Port Royale 2 is a strategy game, where the player can choose to either be a business tycoon or a pirate or someone in between.Initially, the player must trade goods between Caribbean cities, to make a profit until they can buy more goods or ships, or start a business and build plantations, factories, residents etc.The player can also do some good and donate hospitals and schools.In the higher level of the game, the player can also own their very own city.Before the player reaches to higher levels, just after the game starts, it is wise to let the warehouse do a little trading, most of the players seem to miss, that the player can let the warehouse automatically buy and sell goods.Later on, when the player has the ability to have more fleets, it is possible to automate all the trading and focus on creating a large fighting fleet, if that is what the player like to do.The game might be over 7 years old, but it still has unique gameplay and it still hooks people.It is hard to say which game is the best pirate strategy game, but most of the people do consider Port Royale 2 to be the best strategy pirate game for the computer.

Although this game can be also found under the strategy games section, it is rather a blend of strategy, action and role-playing.Often referred as the best pirate game ever, the Sid Meier´s Pirates! is a game were player gets in to similar situations like pirates about four centuries ago.The player can do everything just like a pirate, find treasures, have a fight on a boat, attack cities, escape from prison, discover lost civilizations, marry princesses, assemble a crew, collect unique items and so on.The game is filled with endless possibilities, the game is highly addictive, thanks to the fact that the player can be a pirate.And not a modest one.The game has 27 different ships.The player can face famous pirates from the 17th century, and if the player is skillful enough, even beat them.Sid Meier´s Pirates! itself might be a remake of an old-classic, but it deserves also a remake, since the game is quite old.But don´t let that stop you from testing this game out, the graphics might seem dull at first, but the gameplay evens it out.

When I have read about the best pirate games on forums, I have seen no one mention Tropico 2: Pirate Cove , I personally consider it to be one of the best pirate games.The game itself is somewhat similar to all other Tropico games.The player is the head of a pirate island.A small paradise for pirates.The player can then build buildings to keep pirates happy and the prisoners in order.However, what makes this interesting is that the player has the ability to build ships, 6 different ships and send them out to plunder and destroy enemy ships.The only thing that is missing is the ship combat.As the player only sees the ship leaving the map and then returning, or not, if the ship has been unsuccessful and has sunk.The game is very enjoyable, though it is also quite old.If you have played city-building games, you like pirate themed games or you have played other games from the Tropico franchise I recommend you check this game out.

The only Pirates of the Caribbean game made by Bethesda Softworks.The company that is known for The Elder Scrolls and Fallout New Vegas.The game features a third person view and the best ship combat in pirate games.As a pirate you can buy new and bigger ships, have the English navy pursue you, trade goods, have a sword fight in a city or on a ship, after you bombed it with your grape shots.The game has that role-playing element many games are lacking.Therefore this is most definitely the best pirate RPG game ever made.And it was made 8 years ago, but the graphics are still acceptable, and once you try it, you´ll be hooked for days.When the game came out 8 years ago, it wasn't as good, since it was filled with bugs, those bugs are fixed now, and you can enjoy a game that should have done the same for gaming as the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise did to movie industry.However, the game has nothing to do with the Pirate of the Caribbean the movie.Overall a great game, the best pirate RPG ever.
